MOVED TO SPEAK

Check out our latest thoughts and musings as Founder Sarah Cusick reflects on timely topics and themes emerging from Meetinghouse's coaching and consulting work.

TOPIC AT HAND

Is the determining factor for feeling work so deeply, and the pain that can come as a result, determined by your industry, or more about loving the work you do - whether it is by definition mission or profit driven? Is there something about being a person who derives at least part of their identity and purpose from their career impact?

Feeling love and responsibility for your work may mean we feel it more deeply, but that sense of meaning is also what can bring us the most joy when we can find ways to balance and care for ourselves and each other. It is always worth taking stock on whether you are doing work you love, but if the answer is yes, then let’s find ways to make that work feel sustainable.

Do You Have Executive Presence?

Traditionally, Executive Presence has been used to describe someone who commands a room, exudes confidence, acts decisively, and is perceived to “look the part” of a leader. Many agree that needs to evolve, and I have been thinking about the ways in which an updated construct could better represent a diverse set of leaders beyond those traditionally in power. What could it mean for you?
